Unexpected Adventures

Yesterday I said that I would write about the experience I had on Saturday. Well, as I was writing it I realized that it’s not something that I should put out for the whole world to read. At least not yet. I need to fully process it. 

I don’t want to leave you all hanging though, so I’ll give you this:

When was the last time your prayed?

When you did, did you ask anything specific? Did you see anything? Did you feel anything?

If you’re looking for a game-changer, I would like to recommend the following question: 

Take me to a place in heaven that I’ve never been before…please 😊

Take a deep breath and enjoy the ride. 

I wasn’t expecting anything. In fact, truth be told, I wasn’t even expecting to pray. But when you get stuck in a meditation period after a yoga class, you don’t really have a choice. 

What I saw and what I felt completely blew my mind. I was fighting back the tears the whole time. 

Thank God my friend, Caitlin was there with me. Once the instructor rang a gong-like thing and ripped me out of this sweet, sweet place that I want to live in, I looked at her and said “we need to debrief.”

We sat in my car and, through many tears, I began to process all that happened within those 15 minutes. 

I was completely overwhelmed. In a good way. A very good way. 

Perhaps one day I’ll write about it. It’s certainly not a secret, but it’s not something I’m ready to release to the masses yet either. 

For now I challenge you to ask God the same question and see where He takes you. You won’t be disappointed. 

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Leila’s Party, Dirt Bikes, Tips and Love #SimpleLittleSunday

• Wendy went to Leila’s party.
• Leila had her birthday party yesterday and she had all her friends come over.
• Max got a new phone. He also went to a professional jazz concert at his school to raise money for new guitars for his school. 
• Julia got 107% on her Europe test. She got to inhale helium and sound like Minnie Mouse.
• Tiffany at lots of food at Leila’s party.
• Christos started LAX practice.
• Nico will be doing sound by himself next week! He also had a Spanish quiz – half the class flunked it but he got an A. 
• Breanne gets to talk to her brother who’s been in Israel for a month. Her car had no gas and her car was freaking out but then she had a half tank.
• Michael got a new dirt bike and a hunting license.
• Julie went to an Ariana Grande concert.
• Grace ALSO went to Leila’s party. It was fun. they played manhunt in the snow.
• Katrina got loved on by a preschooler 
• Ben got $15 in tips. Apparently they tip at Subway.
• Emma was ALSO at Leila’s party and she slept over AND SHE’S HERE!
• Reed got gum from Max. And the acoustic was restrung by Jesse for him.
• I had a crazy encounter with God yesterday. I’ll write all about it tomorrow in a separate post. He’s just so good.

Birthday, Subway, Grades and Found Money #SimpleLittleSunday

• Leila’s birthday was on Monday and she got to go to dinner with Tiffany and Emma. She went to see Insurgent at midnight on Friday – the movie wasn’t great but time with her friends was good.
• Morgan’s birthday was a few weeks ago. She was sick the whole week but still got A’s on her tests.
• Benjamin took the CAPT science test and thinks he did well.
• Max’s play was fun and the cast party went til 1am. And he’s going to audition for The Voice next year, he picked out his song. How cool would that be? He’s also inviting people to IMACT and hopes his friends will come with him. And he’s going to the diner after church.
• Julia got good grades – 2 B’s and the rest are A’s. 
• Christos’ dad was visiting this week!
• Katrina got to work with her best friend instead of a coworker who isn’t that great. She works at Subway too. Her and Ben are twinsies.
• Breanne got to hang out with friends yesterday – mall, movie, starbies – MMS!
• Alyssa went to her friend’s house and had a glitter party.
• Nico found $20 on the ground at McDonald’s.
• Adam got his biology grade from a 22 to an 80!
• Wendy made high honors and she got to hang out with Taylor.
• Grace’s dad came back with a bag of subway stuff for her and her sister. Her mom got her a new CD. She got to sleep over her sister’s house. And she got new shoes.
• I got to spend the day with my extended family yesterday and Dave. I’m so blessed with the best family ever, that fact is not lost on me.

Food, Work, Friends and Chicken #SimpleLittleSunday

• Christos’ manager is on vacation for the whole week. Apparently she’s not the greatest to work for. He got to hang out with his assistant manager at work. He’s a good guy.
• Julia celebrated pi day yesterday and she got honors for the semester. 
• Grace ate chocolate peanut butter ice cream yesterday. it was straight from heaven. One time she swallowed a gummy worm whole; the key is to make it really slimy. 
• Leila got to hang out with me all day yesterday and she cleaned off the trampoline so her and Tiffany can play.
• Julie went to Chips with her sister and uncle.
• Ben got 17.5 hours for work this week.
• Katrina got accepted to Champlain College.
• Reed applied for a job at Adams. Fingers crossed he gets it!
• Taylor went to the mall with Wendy by themselves.
• Wendy went to the mall with Taylor by themselves.
• Breanne got quality family time and had canoli cake.
• Michael is going with “chicken” for his SLS.
• I left my keys IN MY CAR. IN THE IGNITION. IN NEW BRITAIN! for an hour and a half and my car was still there. Jesus sure does love me.
• We saw grass! Spring is coming!

Story Time With Grace, Daylight Savings and #SimpleLittleSunday

• Julia was sick but got better and has 2- B+ and the rest A’s. She’s working on getting all A’s. She’s also going to have another sleep over with Shannon, the girl she’s been friends with for a long time.
• Leila’s last class with her worst teacher is Wednesday. She also got her dress for her dad’s wedding. She has also been friends with Emma and Caleb for 10 years.
• Julie went to visit her grandparents. 
• Grace’s family is training their dogs. 
• Ben is getting his debit card tomorrow!
• God is teaching Breanne to live in the moment.
• Max’s sister found a book about how to write better so he started writing a story. He also really felt the presence of the Lord today and wants to go to Impact CT. 
• We all got to enjoy story time with Grace (and reactions from Ben) – peaches are gross when they have worms in them. Oprah is black because she drinks green tea. Ben wrote a story about saving his mom from zombies. Her dad (in a deep voice) is getting them dresses. Julia is invited to Leila’s party. Don’t get her started on Bill Nye. She had a scary dream about her sister dying in her sleep – it wasn’t real. Her hair smells like chimneys. One time she burned a snake and the eyes changed colors. Ben dissected a snake that was preggers but he didn’t want to be a mother to them. One time she tried to pick up ice and fell. One time she went sledding and they fell over and she laughed so hard she peed on her dad. Her mom told her to “come out of the closet” (which apparently means “tell the truth”). 
• I have a gaggle of deer near my office.
